Webelos Invitational Campout 2021

This September, Troop 581 invited local Webelos to camp with the troop at Greenville Farm Family Campground in Haymarket. Webelos in the 5th grade will soon be looking for a Boy Scout troop to join and this was a great opportunity for them to meet the troop and get firsthand experience with camping Boy Scout style. One of the biggest differences they noticed is that in Boy Scouts, the day’s program is led by Scouts, not adult leaders. The Webelos not only participated in the day’s activities along side the Boy Scouts, they also assisted in setting up the campsite, preparing meals a helping with the evening campfire. The Webelos also get credit for camping with a Boy Scout troop for their advancement towards their Arrow of Light award.
