Sea Base 2022

This summer, Troop 581 sent two crews to sunny St Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands to participate in BSA’s Sea Base High Adventure Program. Sea Base operates primarily out of the Florida Keys but crews can participate in programs located across the Caribbean that involve sailing, scuba diving, fishing and other aquatic sports. Our crews participated in the sailing program at St. Thomas, one of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Crew members functioned as deck hands one of two 40+ foot sailboat. They literally learned the ropes of sailing to include navigation, boat maintenance and everyday life onboard a sail boat. Every day was a new adventure as Scout were able to snorkel pristine coral reefs, swim to local beaches and hike the natural parks. This was an adventure they won’t soon forget.
