This past November, Troop 581 traveled to BSA’s Camp Shenandoah located in Swoope, VA. A favorite of Troop 581’s, Camp Shenandoah provides us with great facilities including the use of their spacious dinning hall. Over 40 Scouts attended this campout during the extended Veteran’s Day holiday weekend to participate in our annual merit badge extravaganza. Scouts chose 2-3 of the 20 merit badges that were offered including Automotive Maintenance, Chemistry, Cooking, Music, Radio, Robotics and more.
The troop also held its annual early Thanksgiving Dinner prepared by ASM Chris Eichfeld with a bunch of helpers. As usual, it was a great success. Troop 581 looks forward to next year’s campout at Camp Shenandoah.
