Camp Shenandoah 2023

This November, Troop 581 returned to BSA Camp Shenandoah located in the Virginia Headwaters Council near Swoope, VA for its annual Scoutsgiving Campout. Held over the 3-day Veteran’s Day holiday weekend, over 20 different merit badges were available for Scouts to work on. These included Astronomy, Camping, Chemistry, Chess, Cooking, Photography, Public Health, Sustainability and Weather. Additionally, Scouts had time to work on rank requirements, play Gaga Ball or engage in plenty of other activities.

On Saturday evening, the adult staff provided the early Thanksgiving meal and welcomed Scouts and leaders from another local Troop who were also at Camp Shenandoah that weekend. The campout culminated in an epic campfire and Scout Auction where patrols got to bid on, an win epic prizes such as snacks, camping equipment, and even a potato.  As usual, the campout was a great success and we look forward to our return next year.
